Just getting into Substack and so appreciate that you have taken on this additional way of communication. As a person with Receptive Aphasia I do all of my reading audible and deeply appreciate podcasts and the technology that transforms text to speach. Thank you for taking the time to make multiple options for diverse abilities. Please don't let the media suck out your soul.
This is so fun to get additional insight into the stories you tell. We all feel ya on the platform dilemma; glad you’re trying this one out. Looking forward to listening to Olga!
Nate, you mention that you first heard about Olga after reading her obituary by Frank Litsky. I think he would make a fascinating subject of a Memory Palace episode. (I apologize if this already exists, I found the podcast late and have not listened to every episode yet) He passed away in 2018 but had prewritten dozens of obituaries for athletes he covered while being a sportswriter. The Times continues to use and publish them, Olga’s being the 23rd such obituary published after his death. Anyway, just a thought. Congrats on the Substack and the book!
That was a wonderful story and this will dovetail nicely with your work. I couldn't agree more on your thoughts on Social Media. It's all become so exhausting and soul crushing.
